This week got screwed in Chandigarh and that too by the city traffic cop! Taking your car to Chandigarh has become a big headache. The traffic cops have there eyes set on Himachal registered cars. From the moment I crossed into Chandigarh at the railway station crossing I was flagged to stop four times and all my papers were checked and rechecked again. God knows what they were looking at! Finally at the PGI crossing, this cop, it seemed had made up his mind and once I stopped the car, plainly told me that my wife was not wearing the seat belt. Swearing under my breath, I asked him to look again. She wore it just now he told me. It was news to me as we both had been wearing the seat belt right from Shimla. Read the rest of this entry »

Saturday Melody

Saturday Melody

Here is an all time favorite song. Beautiful and refreshingly timeless! What a way to propose to a girl. Or shall I say, can any girl refuse if she is proposed in such a romantic and melodious manner? A master piece from Mohd Rafi, SD Burman, Hasrat Jaipuri and Vijay Anand. Nutan looks beautiful & Dev Saab so flirty cute!!!

The song is shot at the famous Kutub Minar. This song picturises the rhythm of the steps, the beats, the hopping down of steps, the emotions, shades of light all coming together so beautifully. What simplicity!! I wish we had something like this in today’s movies.

Enjoy!

Working from home gets mixed bag reactions. First of all there is this dis-approval from the relatives. “Working from home? How can one work from home! Is he doing something worthwhile.” Then it is the better half who has this frown on her face as I seem to encroach her ‘working space’ during the day. I really feel guilty asking for a cup of tea during my work hours when it is supposed to be her off hours. I guess she has become bored seeing my face day in and out:) The only one who appreciates me working from home is my 17 month old sweetheart. She demands a seat on my lap and seems engrossed at the laptop.

Had an interesting incident recently when I applied for a credit card with my bank. I submitted my salary slip and all other required documents and was promised a quick action. The action started pretty quick! Read the rest of this entry »

Work pressure had been bogging me down and I was missing the call of the wild imagining myself on one of those biking trips with the breeze touching me and the throttle setting my adrenaline rushing.. just like the good ol’ days!. This Friday I finally switched off the mobile and packed away the laptop. The call of the mountains was too good to resist. Bade goodbye to the wife and my little brat. It was time to be along with my pal, George, the mean 350cc machine on two wheels. I first went to Kotgarh where the Bullet is parked. Worked on the machine so as to set for a good hike.

The journey started at 7 in the morning. Cutting across apple, cherry and plum orchards through Bhutti, Kotidhar and traveling along the horticulture road I reached Bithal. Tanked up at the Indian Oil fuel station and traveled on the NH 21 to Sainj. Read the rest of this entry »
