This is where I live in Shimla hills.

I read, I travel, I write.  I am excited by technology, and what it can do in influencing and creating social contexts. I have the ‘honour’ of logging to the internet back in 1998, when Internet was launched in India and surfing used to cost 80/ an hour. I created my first e-mail id on hotmail, not knowing whom to send my first e-mail as no one used to have an e-mail address then! My cyber life escapade is available here.

I spent first ninteen years in Shimla, in the lap of Himalayas. Growing up in the mountains gave me a fascination for the hills. I studied in Patna and Kolkata later and have worked in Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Indore and Ahmedabad. I have worked both within the public and private sector. I was in London for a month in November 2005. Farming and traveling have been mine passion. Once I had convinced myself, farming was my career I left the corporate rat race and moved back to the hills.

23 months back I was crowned father to a baby girl on Lohri. The best ever Lohri gift I have received in my life time! Since then my life has been revolving around her. The baby has grown into a brat. Am trying to infuse lady like qualities in her. The brat has got a fascination for the machine and you may find my posts with missing words. Removing keys from the keyboard happens to be her favorite past time.

With a bleak prospect of apple crop for the third year I have finally taken a job in Shimla and am now a weekend farmer. The job is quite interesting. I work from my home. I work for a travel company based in Gurgaon. When call center gets stuck on a query for Himachal, the call is transferred to me without the caller knowing he is talking to a resident expert I also keep tab on company’s interests in Himachal. It is an all new experience working with the new age companies.

Only draw back, I carry my cellphone even visiting loo..!!
